Cornwall Ceramics and Glass Group...Nicky May

I build by hand, using coils and slabs of clay, mostly working with just the clay itself, mixing it with oxides to produce muted, earthy colours. Each piece is unique, and may take weeks to make. Sizes range from 15cm to 90cm in height. I sometimes glaze my work where the contrasting texture brings out the form, and usually fire to 1240°c electric. My work is frost-resistant and so would be suitable for an intimate setting in both house and garden. My work is available from galleries throughout the South West.
