Ceramics

Helen Carlisle

My interest in ceramics started at school where I was able to take an 'O' level in Pottery.

I moved to Cornwall in 1996 and retired from Primary School teaching in 2009, leaving me time to pursue my own interests and hobbies.

I took a couple of courses in ceramics and went on to establish a workshop/studio in our converted barn on our farm near Lostwithiel.

I am very fortunate to be able to work from home surrounded by diverse wildlife and the beautiful Cornish countryside, both of which are a constant source of inspiration for my work.

I mostly mix my own glazes and use different firing methods. I also enjoy experimenting with mixing clays to produce interesting textures on my pieces.
